Presidential Election in Turkey May 28, second round result: Erdogan won! from Onur Türk's blog

The results of the second round of the Presidential Election have been announced. According to AA and ANKA, Erdogan finished the race ahead. YSK announced that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was elected the 13th President of Turkey.

 

The results of the second round of the 28 May Presidential Election were announced. According to AA, 99.99 percent of the ballot boxes were opened, while Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received 52.16 percent of the votes; Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received 47.84 percent. ANKA news agency also announced the same rates.

The Supreme Election Board (YSK) announced that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was re-elected as President as a result of the final results.

 

 

How much is the difference?

 

In the first round on May 14, Erdoğan received 2.54 million more votes than Kılıçdaroğlu. While Erdoğan received 27.13 million votes, Kılıçdaroğlu remained at 24.6 million. Erdogan 27.73 million in the second round; Kılıçdaroğlu received 25.43 million votes. The vote difference was 2.29 million. The vote gap has slightly decreased compared to the first round.

Erdogan was ahead in the first round According to the statement of the YSK, in the first round of the presidential election on May 14, 53 million 993 thousand 683 out of 60 million 721 thousand 745 registered voters in the country voted.

 

While 52 million 972 thousand 934 of the votes were considered valid, 1 million 20 thousand 749 were invalid. The voter turnout rate was 88.92 percent.

Erdoğan received 49.52 percent of the votes in the first round, while Kılıçdaroğlu remained with 44.88 percent. Sinan Ogan received 5.17 percent of the votes; Muharrem İnce received 0.43%.
