When converting foreign money into Hryvnia, the money must not be worn out and must not have any scratches, marks or any other writings on it. Worn out coins are not converted at many points or are exchanged at a lower rate. At airports, the exchange rate is lower.

Credit card use is common in restaurants, bars and hotels throughout Ukraine. However, as you move away from the city center and away from the center, the rate of credit card usage decreases.

Turkish citizens visiting Ukraine, which is among the countries that can be visited with an ID, prefer to bring Euros or American Dollars and convert these money into Hryvnia, the currency of Ukraine . It is also possible to convert Turkish Lira, but sometimes losses may occur due to low exchange rates.

Living conditions in Ukraine

Living conditions in Ukraine are almost the same as in Turkey. Some daily expenses are cheaper than in Turkiye. In Ukraine, a pack of cigarettes costs 15 Hryvnia, bread costs 8 Hryvnia, a litte of milk costs 15 Hryvnia, cucumber costs 35 Hryvnia, chicken meat costs 55 Hryvnia, 10 eggs costs 21 Hryvnia, cheese costs 55 Hryvnia, a 3 km taxi ride within the city costs 44 Hryvnia, municipality bus ticket 2 hryvna, ballet show lodge (4 people) 200 hryvna, 1 liter of local (best quality) vodka 106 hryvna, lentil soup 40 hryvna, doner wrap 50 hryvna.

Due to the Turkish Lira losing value day by day, even many basic products began to exceed the Turkish average. Many products that were classified as very cheap until a few years ago are now either the same or slightly more expensive than Turkiye

Considering current economic data, Ukraine is among the 15 most unhappy countries in the world. The main reason for the unhappiness of the country's citizens is that Ukraine is in a political jam between  the European Union and Russia.

Ukrainian citizens who have the right to travel to the Schengen Area in the European Union without a visa can live an upper-middle class life in their country for a cost of 150-200 dollars.
